This sumptuous 1kg truckle of our Oak-Smoked Vintage Organic Cheddar is made to the same recipe, using the same cheese as our Vintage Organic Cheddar before being cold-smoked over sustainably-sourced oak chippings.
We make our cheddar to a traditional 90-year-old recipe and then mature it for up to 12 months. After that, we select the very best cheese to make into one of our award-winning truckles. We then smoke it for up to 10 hours. This gives the cheddar a rich depth of flavour with a smooth texture.
Delicious on its own or as part of the perfect cheeseboard, Godminster Oak-Smoked Vintage Organic Cheddar is also a versatile ingredient in many showstopping recipes – we love it on a burger!
How to store me
All of our cheeses are organic which means that they don’t contain any preservatives other than salt. They will need to be stored below 5 degrees celsius. In order to enjoy your Godminster at its best, allow it to come up to room temperature an hour before serving to bring out all the lovely flavours. If there’s any left, wrap it in cling film, or cheese paper if you have any, and pop it back in the fridge.
Please note, all of our Oak-Smoked Vintage Organic Cheddar is vacuum packed and then hand-wrapped in a muslin cloth.
